Mentor - BeDavid Whitworth

This, proud to be from, East Orange, NJ native played trumpet, keyboards and sang on the local scene, while still in high school, with friends in a band named Sundae, before enrolling at the Berklee College of Music in Boston to pursue a degree in Arranging.  

From jingles and radio station ID's to the local music establishments there, the call came to join the background vocal section of famed Broadway singer/actress and recording artist Stephanie Mills. After a few tours with Ms. Mills, an invitation came to sing background from fellow Essex County, NJ. native, and world renowned vocalist, Whitney Houston. A brief stint with Whitney was followed by a few years touring Japan as a recording artist with yet more local talent; East Orange's own 14 Karat Soul. (Recently inducted into the East Orange Hall Of Fame, Nov. ’22) 

He then combined his musicianship with one of the world's most legendary bands; singing and playing mostly electronic percussion with the highly regarded Earth, Wind & Fire, where he has continued since 1995 to add his GOD-given energy & talents. 

BeDavid has also had the honor to record with some highly esteemed artists and producers that include Billy Joel, Wyclef Jean, David Foster, C & C Music Factory and can be heard on the Mo' Better Blues soundtrack.
